Best Summer Resort

Our new summer survey

Following the successful establishment of the "Best Ski Resort" study in winter, we are looking forward to the launch of the new study, "Best Summer Resort of the Alps".

As of 2019, also summer guests will be asked about their satisfaction and the most important selection criteria when choosing a destination. In the first survey wave, which takes place from June to September 2019, our interviewers are active in 44 selected summer holiday destinations in the Alps. We expect particularly insightful findings from the comparison with the already existing winter data, the "summer/winter performance analysis".

The results of the study will be available from January 2020. The results of this first summer survey are exclusively available for the respective areas. 

- Execution in 44 TOP ski resorts in the Alps AT | CH | DE | FR | IT

- The survey is conducted by trained mountain management personnel using questionnaires directly in the different resorts

- 600-800 guests rate at 4-5 different dates per area

- Mountain Management Consulting acts independently. The study is conducted independently from the purchase.

- Planned periodic implementation of the study 2019 | 2021 | 2023 | 2025 |... 

- This study is being conducted in cooperation with the University of Innsbruck.

In the year 2019 the survey will be conducted in 44 selected mountain regions (A/D/CH/I/F) within the Alps. In the future, we can include up to 4 new regions – max. 2 per country – per study. The admission criteria are: a certain size/prominence/ regional significance, and the achievement of the average customer satisfaction score of the previous study.

Should more participants achieve these criteria, those with the highest satisfaction scores will be chosen. If a new region applies, the survey to calculate the average customer satisfaction score will take place in the season before the main survey. For the study Best Summer Resort 2021 in the summer season 2020, for Best Summer Resort 2023 in the summer season 2022, etc.

The total number of regions represented is limited to 44. Therefore, the inclusion of new destinations automatically leads to the exclusion of those destinations with the lowest satisfaction score. However, they can apply again for the next study, according to the policies.
