Easy learning with "LUCA"

Flexible and modern online training for employees

"LUCA" is a digital learning program developed specifically for employees of mountain resorts, which has been systematically built over the last few years. From the initial foundational concepts, the program was tailored to the unique characteristics of our industry, such as seasonal employees, outdoor workplaces, and staff with and without direct guest contact.

Playful learning in small "nuggets" aligns with the modern trend of microlearning. In a pilot project with the University of St. Gallen (led by Prof. Andrea Back), we analyzed the most successful e-learning providers with a focus on gamification and integrated their insights into our planning.

To achieve maximum learning success, we collaborated with "Click & Learn," a renowned e-learning provider, to prepare our didactic concepts and templates. As an industry expert and innovation driver, Mountain Management is responsible for the program’s content, which is supplemented by selected contributions from various experts.

From the pilot phase (with 2 mountain railway companies) during Winter '21/22, we gained some very interesting and important insights, which we have incorporated into this year's rollout. For example, a targeted and supported introduction by General Management, Operations Management, or HR is a crucial aspect to consider for a successful launch.

For each topic, we prepare "nuggets" that consist of 2–3 minute learning videos, including a quiz or a "gaming part." These are delivered to employees at weekly intervals throughout the season, based on the department or organizational structure. The unique design of the program ensures every employee is engaged!

In total, approximately 20 "nuggets" are released. The "playful learning" is supported by a gamification tool. For example, internal competitions, leaderboards, and a reward system are planned. Unlike a one-off training, this approach provides continuous positive reinforcement throughout the entire season!

More in-depth topics are made available in a separate "media library." Following the motto, "The bait must appeal to the fish, not the angler," employees are actively involved in topic selection and program development.

Access to the training series can be provided via the Mountain e-Academy platform or through pre-existing LMS systems.

bieten wir die Möglichkeit Content individuell aufzubereiten.
Auch bereits bestehende Videos können integriert werden. Wir
versuchen jedoch den didaktischen Aufbau des
Gesamtkonzeptes beizubehalten. Dennoch möchten wir auf
bestimmte Wünsche und Vorstellungen flexibel und individuell
eingehen

Aufbauend auf den Ergebnissen der Studie "Best Ski Resort" haben sich die Best Ski Resort Awards als besondere Auszeichnung unserer Branche etabliert. Bereits seit 2012 werden in feierlichem Rahmen die Skigebiete mit den höchsten Gästezufriedenheitswerten ausgezeichnet. Neben Awards für die Platzierung im Gesamtranking werden auch Auszeichnungen für Spitzenleistungen in gesamt 20 Kategorien überreicht.

To strengthen company identity and a sense of belonging, the following customizations are planned:

✓ 2-3 images of key locations (e.g., a new lift, valley station, etc.)

✓ Highlighting other products you want to feature

For special topics (e.g., reinforcing a specific subject, explaining new products and services, etc.), we offer the option to create customized content. Existing videos can also be integrated.
However, while we are flexible and want to accommodate specific requests, we will always aim to maintain the didactic structure of the overall concept.

Access to "LUCA"

The digital learning program "LUCA" is preferably deployed via the TMC-Enluf Mountain e-Academy platform. This platform can be integrated into the Mountain Guide Inside (Beekeeper), allowing employees to access content instantly without additional logins. If your company already uses an LMS platform, the integration of LUCA would need to be coordinated.

In addition to LUCA, numerous other training courses and information can be made available to your employees through the Mountain e-Academy (e.g., integration of industry partners). You can find more information about the Mountain e-Academy here
